What to do, what to see

Walks & Heritage in Pornichet

Pornichet, a resort that’s bursting with charm!

To one side, there’s the town centre with its colourful seaside villas once home to illustrious families; to the other side, there’s the lush green countryside with miles of footpaths and cycle trails; then tracing the line of the ocean, there’s the coastal path for an invigorating walk, and near Saint-Nazaire, the little neighbourhood of Sainte-Marguerite, where time seems to have stood still….

There are so many things to discover in Pornichet!

On top of that, Pornichet is just 45 minutes from the city of Nantes, at the heart of a region offering a wealth of historic, natural and urban heritage.

Nestled within these sumptuous landscapes, with industrial touches, beaches of fine sand, and medieval heritage, ours is an ideal spot from which to explore the region.

Make the most of your time in Pornichet to visit the surrounding area, including the Natural Regional Park of Brière, the canals and thatched cottages, Saint-Nazaire – home to industrial engineering and vast transatlantic liners – the salt marshes and medieval streets of Guérande, Nantes, with its rich cultural programme and impressive heritage (such as the Château des Ducs de Bretagne, the oversized mechanical animals of Les Machines de l'Ile and the Giant Eléphant), the wild coastline, picturesque villages and cliffs of south Brittany, Croisic Peninsula and its Océarium - in other words, you’ll be spoilt for choice in Pornichet!

Find it all here…

And if you’re finding it difficult to decide where to start, pop in to the Tourist Office and we’ll give you some inspiration that’s #pornichouette!
